Just make sure you get a original one, there some copies that look just like the original, but the pots are much less sensible. I wish a had kept some BS tracks for you to see how it played. all available on the controller through combination of modifiers. I had DMS,TMS,CMS,China,MIC,AP,POV,dual trigger, analog slew. On the A-10C is good enough to learn and play light missions. The biggest problem on BS is using the collective through buttons, and you will need to use at least two buttons(i used the L&R buttons) as modifiers to multiply the number of buttons available. I did play for a few months on a 360 in both BS and A-10. There lots of recommendation for these on another topic, they are around the same $40-50 price. If you going to use mostly for sims then it's probably better to look for one of these stick with a throttle on the base. I will only recommend getting a 360 controller to play DCS if you plan on using it to play other games like GTA,Resident Evil 5,DeadSpace, etc. Not when I already have several sticks scrapping the place and is planning for a proper HOTAS as my next purchase. Though note that that's just my suspicion, I haven't actually bothered digging up my Xbox to try it out myself. It is possible that a game port is needed which in turn plugs into. See how you go with the above and let us know the outcome.

It will go through a check of the controller and port and spit out some information. :Dīut you'll have to be seriously good with that controller (or have a disgusting amount of R/C aircraft experience :P ) to have an enjoyable experience in sim mode with it. the controller is connected to a port), then right click on the controller icon and select Troubleshoot. I was feeling all fuzzy with flashbacks from the good old novalogic "sims". That said, I did once try a flight in arcade mode to help troubleshoot something for a guy a good while ago, and it was a kickass load of fun, so I can't really blame you if you're in it for the arcade.

It will cause you to gain a lot of what's called negative training - that is, when you move over to the simulator mode you'll have to unlearn a lot in how the helicopter handles, which can cause a bit of a frustrating experience. It's slightly off-topic, but I do want to caution you against using arcade mode to "get acquainted".
